Cobourg, ON  In-Home Caregiver

Weekdays & Weekends PSW

As a Qualicare Hourly Personal Support Worker you will:

   Provide personal care for Cobourg seniors in their home  
   Assist patients and families with complex medical care issues
   Assist with daily physiotherapy as prescribed by the OT
   Provide emotional support, motivation and guidance when required
   Support independence, dignity, social and emotional health 
   Develop & maintain a positive rapport with patient and family
   Provide companionship and living assistance 
   Assist with mobility using a Hoya lift, wheelchair, walker and transfer board
   Provide personal care, bathing and hygiene assistance 
   Perform light house duties 
   Prepare and serve meals
   Monitor and manage medications Work closely with CCAC case managers and support workers

Qualifications include:

   PSW certificate from a recognized NACC college or Ontario community college
   Experience in a Traumatic Brain Injury nursing or Head Injury recovery
   Experience with safe mobility safe transfers
   Strong reading and verbal English language skills
   Driver's license not required but an asset
